As a Professional Scrum Master, you know how to make teams excel. That requires more than basic knowledge. Our PSM I training gives you the insights to be a Professional Scrum Master.

Program
First, we look at the theory of Scrum. Creating an in-depth understanding of the framework is essential for your work as a Scrum Master. We also talk about the different roles within a team and your role as a Professional Scrum Master. What does it mean to be a Scrum Master, and what’s your relationship to, for instance, a Product Owner?
After this, we dive deeper into the matter. What is true leadership? And, how does empiricism help you to create a high-value product? After the training course, you can set up a Scrum Team and deal with complex Scrum issues.
- Scrum Theory and Principles: We summarize the necessary Scrum basics before diving deeper into the practical implications.
- Scrum Framework: The history of the Scrum Framework and all accountabilities and events.
- Scrum product delivery: From a Vision to Product Backlog Items; how can you serve the Product Owner?
- Scrum Teams: What are self-managing teams, and how can you serve the Scrum Team?

The Professional Scrum Master 1 (PSM 1) training is ideal for anyone wanting to know more about Scrum! You may already have completed our Scrum Foundation course, gained experience on the job, or read about Scrum. Or maybe you are quite new to it all? It doesn’t matter; you are clearly eager to become a Professional Scrum Master officially, so this training is perfect for you.
Requirements
It would help if you have a basic understanding of Scrum.
Some experience with Scrum would be advantageous, but other than that, there are no requirements.

Exam and Certification
After completing the Professional Scrum Master 1 (PSM 1) training course, you will receive an exam code from Scrum.org. This code is valid indefinitely, allowing you to take the PSM 1 exam online whenever you choose and obtain your PSM 1 certificate.
However, if you take the exam within 14 days of receiving the exam code, you will receive a new attempt for free in case you fail the exam. If you take the exam – and fail – after those 14 days, you will have to retake the exam at your own expense ($150), as those costs are not included in the training price.
If you pass the PSM 1 exam (score above 85%), you will:
- Receive the Scrum.org Professional Scrum Master 1 (PSM 1) certificate and badge.
- Become a lifelong member of the Scrum.org community.
- Be included in the global Professional Scrum Master database.
- After some experience and self-study, you can take your next career step and obtain the PSM 2 certification.

After registering for the PSM 1 training, you will receive a confirmation email with practical information. A week before the training, we will ask you about any dietary requirements and share literature if you need to prepare.
