This training is perfect for Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, or any other role that includes iterative (Agile/Lean/Scrum/Kanban) delivery with user stories. To get the most out of this workshop, you should have a relatively senior role, a basic knowledge of iterative delivery methods, and experience with Scrum, XP or Kanban-like delivery.

During this interactive 1-day workshop, you will learn:

  • The basics of Impact Mapping and put this knowledge into practice directly. You will learn
  • Why barriers to delivering valuable products through effective collaboration arise from unshared, unexamined, unproven assumptions.
  • To practice the visualization of the why, who, how, and what of the problem your organization is addressing.
  • How to improve focus and minimize waste by connecting causes with desired effects and creating a shared understanding of the objectives, expected impacts, and key assumptions.
  • To acquire the skills to facilitate strategic planning using Impact Maps by creating a big-picture view focused on key business objectives.

  • Make your Backlog concise, compact and prioritized.
  • Prioritize in collaboration with multiple stakeholders with competing perspectives.
  • Establish a good reporting structure on outcomes rather than just monitoring velocity and activity.
  • Get agreement from the team and business sponsors about which user stories are useful and which are just noise.
  • Enable business sponsors to benefit from flexible scope and avoid water-scrum-fall.
  • Effectively prioritize based on value.

  • Run Impact Mapping sessions.
