Developing Data Models with LookML
This course builds up on Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Looker, providing a complete foundation on how to manage and curate Looker explores to support looks and dashboards. In this training, the focus is on LookML – the Looker Modeling Language. With LookML, analysts can develop semantic data models through dimensions, measures, and data relationships. Moreover, advanced topics such as project version control, caching, and datagroups are also covered.

What will you learn?
After the training, you will be able to:
Create LookML models that equip your stakeholders with standardized, ready-to-use data
Use derived tables to instantaneously create new ones
Use the Looker Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and project version control to modify LookML models

- Creating Dimensions and Measures
- Project Version Control: Git within Looker, project version control
- Model Files: SQL within Looker, Explores, joins, symmetric aggregations, filters
- Derived Tables: Best practices
- Caching and Datagroups: Caching, Datagroups

You want to develop scalable and performant LookML data models
You want to create and design explores that make data accessible to business users
You are interested in learning Looker best practices, such as the Git workflow for LookML projects
This training is not for you if:
You have no previous experience with Looker (check out our Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Looker training instead)
You don’t have a basic knowledge about SQL (check out our SQL for Data Analysis course)
You don’t have a basic knowledge about Git
