Restrictions in Google Meet when people request access to join a video call are a thing of the past. With a subtle change, Google ensures that all functions are still optimally accessible.
Until recently, a pop-up was visible in the middle of the Google Meet screen if a person requested access to the meeting. If there were several people, the pop-up could be clicked open and people could be admitted or rejected.
The small join request window was positioned directly over the center of the Google Meet screen, obstructing access to other functionalities.
To ensure that the Google Meet screen and other meeting functions remain fully available when participation requests come in, Google has ensured that participation requests are displayed through the people panel at the bottom right of the Meet. If multiple requests come in, they can be displayed in full on the right without blocking other functions.
The new functionality is automatically available in all Meets!
