Key Takeaways

AI Agents Move from Experiment to Practice

A quarter of organizations already have AI agents live in production or deployed at scale. Agentic AI goes a step beyond the generative AI assistants that have become commonplace in many workplaces: agents can carry out follow-up steps on their own and connect different systems and tasks. That increases the potential impact.

Proving AI's Value Remains the Hard Part

Trust is the real bottleneck. Only 21% of respondents trust an AI model's output as much as a human colleague's, and that hesitation keeps AI out of the critical workflows where it could do the most. Shadow AI follows the same pattern: 69% of organizations report concern about employees using AI tools outside approved systems. When governance trails adoption, trust pays the price.

Europe Wants Sovereignty. Few Are Acting on It.

The report highlights that 81% of companies describe themselves as dependent or highly dependent on third-party providers, with comfort levels rising alongside that dependence. Most organizations recognize the problem: 82% agree American Big Tech holds too much power in data and AI, and 85% want Europe to form a stronger front. Yet action lags far behind conviction. Only 15% have taken concrete steps toward sovereign or European-first infrastructure, and 42% haven't put it on the agenda at all.

Adoption Outpaces Value Proof

Generative AI is now standard practice across the region, with 74% of organizations actively working with GenAI assistants. Yet widespread adoption hasn't translated into proven value. Only 24% believe they're fully harvesting and tracking what AI actually delivers. Experimenting has become normal. Consistently showing results has not.
