This module is designed to provide you with practical insights and tools to help you establish and
communicate a compelling product vision and strategy. Throughout this training, we will focus on real-world application, allowing you to work on your own product vision and apply the concepts directly to your work.
First, we’ll delve into the process of establishing your product vision. You will learn how to align your product vision with the company strategy, identify the characteristics of great visions, and avoid common pitfalls and misconceptions. We will also introduce you to product vision canvasses and tools that can aid in designing a compelling product vision and strategy.
Moving on to Communicating Product Vision with Storytelling, we will explore target audience analysis and the art of storytelling. You will learn how to create impactful stories and elevator pitches that effectively communicate your product vision. Additionally, we will discuss techniques for creating alignment around the product vision, inspiring others, and translating the vision into actionable strategies.

In this training, consisting of 3 days, you will learn the following, as shown in the drop down list.
Day 1 : Kick-off, Product Vision Foundations & Exploring the Now
Day 2: Imagining the Future, Crafting Product Vision
Day 3: Story Design & Storytelling, Closing the training
Part 1: Kick-off, introductions, and context analysis
We begin by setting the stage for your journey, providing an overview of the program, exploring current challenges and introduce you to the topic of envisioning.
Part 2: Product visioning foundations
We will explore the strategic visioning process, the difference of company vision & strategy VS product vision. We will also see what characteristics of great visions are, and learn about common pitfalls and misconceptions
Part 3: Exploring the now
Time to get concrete! In this step we provide all the product vision canvasses and tools, to get to your vision. This begins with firstly understanding your own (product) context.
Part 4 & 5: Imagining the future
Based on the results of Day 1, we will continue by imagining what the future could look like for your product. We will be designing a product vision for your product that is tangible, but still future focused. We make things practical & concrete through group exercises and individual feedback.
Part 6: Story Design and Storytelling
In this part, we will learn how to create a Target audience analysis, so you better understand whom to create the story for. We will explore the concepts of “story design”, “story telling”, “elevator pitches”.
Part 7: Advocating product vision through storytelling
Having the theory in lace, we will be creating alignment around the product vision through a powerful product narrative. We will teach you how to be inspiring to others and be able to carry out the product vision.
Part 8: Closing, program review, and retrospective
Final Presentations, Closing, and Retrospective. Put your newfound knowledge into practice by presenting your product vision with its story. Wrap up the program with a thoughtful retrospective to reflect on your learning journey and solidify your skills.
Who is it for?
The Envisioning, Storytelling & Advocacy training module is ideal for product management and product ownership professionals with at least 3-5 years of (product) experience. Requirements
You are a product management practitioner (you own/manage a product in your daily work)
Ideally, you have had former Product Owner/Management training (e.g., PSPO, PSPO-A, CSPO, A-CSPO)
You are an experienced Product Owner, Manager, or Leader (at least three years of Product Owner experience, preferably five or more)
You are involved in developing a product or operating within a domain where envisioning and/or storytelling is part of your work

The full PPM™ program offers various training modules, each focused on a specific product management skill and knowledge area. This Envisioning, Storytelling & Advocacy course is one of those modules and focuses on crafting vision, and the ability to convey a message through the power of storytelling.
