Xebia and Xebia Academy have, together with A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk), won a Silver award at the Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards 2022. Our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capability program received a Silver Award in the Learning and Development area for ‘Best Advance in Competencies and Skill Development’.
Together, they have developed Maersk’s global Site Reliability Engineering learning journey. This capability program is an organization-wide initiative to raise awareness and achieve a culture shift to enhance Maersk’s client experience, reliability, and business value.
The Site Reliability Engineering topic covers a broad range of aspects. To adapt the general SRE principles, as developed by Google, to the context of the Maersk organization and its employees, a multi-dimensional approach was implemented. The program focused on:
“Excellence Award winners distinguish themselves through their growing understanding that all the functions of HCM are integrated and must work together to move businesses forward,” said Brandon Hall Group Chief Operating Officer Rachel Cooke, leader of the HCM Excellence Awards program. “We saw more alignment between HCM and business objectives than ever before.”
Jurriaan Bernson, Director of Xebia Academy commented: “I’m proud that our close collaboration with Maersk resulted in such a comprehensive and successful upskill solution that brings SRE knowledge to all Maersk stakeholders across the globe.”
Ashish Rana, Global Learning Partner, Technology at Maersk, added: “Implementing such a program like the SRE capability program is always a daunting task. However, we chose the right approach by involving important stakeholders throughout the program.”
“Based on Maersk’s requirement, Team Xebia was able to come up with a tailor-made learning experience for our engineering teams in scope. Having the right partnership model with Xebia has enabled this learning program to get this success,” says Priyanku Nandi, Head of Technology Academy, Maersk.
