At Xebia, we strongly believe in the abilities of our people. By bringing together best-in-class consultants drawn from a range of disciplines and areas of expertise, we have tapped a huge intellectual resource.

XKE - Xebia Knowledge Exchange

Every two weeks, the entire company gets together for an intensive knowledge transfer and presentation program. These sessions last from 4PM until 9PM. We organize presentations, brainstorming sessions, hands-on sessions and review cycles. Any work-related topic is welcome: From hard-core Java programming and product presentations to soft skills like transactional analysis. The meetings also have a lively and vibrant atmosphere and often provide a challenging and interactive environment for presenters!  

 

Xebia Tasking

Xebia Tasking is a budget for funding non-billable activities. Consultants may propose projects that they would like to carry out. When the proposal is approved, the consultant may work on their project in normal office hours. For instance, the Spring MVC tag library was funded from Xebia Tasking. 

 

Coaching

One-to-one coaching and mentoring plays an important role at Xebia, as this kind of interaction provides the individual with the kind of personalized feedback that may not be possible in group learning activities. Every consultant is visited every 6-8 weeks by their mentor, for personal attention. Unlike a field manager, the mentor is there for the consultant, to help him grow as a professional. These meetings are also excellent opportunities for the consultants to provide feedback to the organization. 

 

Wiki

Xebia has set up a collaboration and knowledge management platform for our technical staff. This platform facilitates the sharing of our knowledge and skills among our technical staff. The wiki has an extremely low barrier, can be accessed at any time from any location and contains comprehensive information, from commercial proposals to the latest project report. 

 

Informal Communication

Xebia consultants have face-to-face contact every two weeks. They know each other’s area of expertise and have a tremendous willingness to help each other out. This shortens the lines of communications dramatically and enables them to quickly get the right answers from colleagues to the complex issues that arise in Enterprise Java projects.

 

External Trainings and Seminars

Xebia pays special attention to keeping the knowledge and the skills of our technical staff up-to-date. We do not leave the responsibility for attending training courses to our consultants: we ensure that they use up the budget that was assigned to them! As a result, our consultants regularly attend seminars and training courses to stay in touch with the latest developments. 

 

Xebia Mud Experience

Each quarter, Xebia organizes a challenging outdoor experience where fun and team building go hand in hand!
